Islamic Threat?

Watch the You Tube video on Islamic population changes.... "what is the call to Action?" To have more babies? To stop immigration? To protect our culture by limiting religious liberty? To evangelize Muslims? Is this video just a scare tactic produced by someone clinging to their guns and religion?

I know that I don't want my grandchildren living under Islamic law. Please add your thoughts. The video is about 7 minutes long. I promise it will be at least thought-provoking.

I have included an e-mail I recieved from Toby about global warming. enjoy his thoughts

Hey Dad,
I have been doing some more research on the global warming thing. It seems that most of the dissenters to man-made warming are saying so because of the cool-down of the past decade. (650 scientists) I decided that I needed to examine this. I discovered that since the warming began in the 1880s, 2005 (one of the coolest years since 2000), was the 10th warmest year on record still. Then I discovered this article:
http://science.nasa.gov/headlines/y2009/01apr_deepsolarminimum.htm
This might explain why we are having the cool down also. If you take a look at the attached excel doc...you can see also that our co2 output has pretty much leveled off. Maybe this is helping to slow the warming.
Also, Its difficult to prove one way or the other, b/c climate is so complex, full of several thousand interrelated parts that are all important for overall measured temperatures; but I think I am coming to believe that it is (in part), man made. The correlation of the charts is a strong piece of evidence. In the end though, I think its like saying, "here, I just proved God existed and you can't refute it." I do see lots of strong evidence though, like I see strong evidence of God's existence.
I just want you to think carefully about it, and I would disagree completely with the notion that all liberals have diabolical intentions to take away our way of life and impose socialism. Certainly some do want to do that, but I think we could also safely say that there are plenty of crazy people on the other side too. (ie. guy holding sign of obama with hitler stache). Fringe elements should not define any political movement, conservative or liberal.
I think that people are genuinely concerned about the fate of humanity. At the end of the day, we are all environmentalists: we all like breathing air, and our bodies like to consume clean water, since water constitutes 90% of it. I heard someone once say that you are like a walking water bag. The lawhons are like walking bags of lake robinson water!
One example I often think about is the collapse of the north atlantic cod fishery. Scientists warned in the early 90s that quotas should be enstated and enforced. Unfortunately, politicians, constituents, and their lobbies were shortsighted. Few quotas were legislated and in the early 2000s, the entire fishery collapsed. No more fish. All these fishermen and an entire resulting industry were put out of work immediately. Wouldn't it have been better to make smaller cuts earlier on and save several thousand jobs in the end?
It seems that the arguments against being environmentally conscious (and some arguments against global warming---though not all) tend to go the way of those early 90s fisherman. Are we only hurting ourselves in the end by not paying attention to this stuff and making a few sacrifices now?
I will of course continue to remain skeptical of both sides, and I would welcome a reply and any evidence/arguments from the other side that are compelling for you.

Language and Global Warming

It's been said....."If you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes the truth." Such is the strategy of the global warming crowd. Global warming has not been proven to be caused by human activity. Six Hundred fifty scientist recently came out against this "accepted truth". It continues to be my opinion that global warming is more about equalizing the unequal distribution of wealth (destroying consumerism as symbolized by the evil SUV) raising taxes, and supporting the radical environmental agenda of the far left.

The latest strategy of this "lie" has been to change the language from "global warming" to "climate change", thus enabling the propagandist to play both sides of the weather--cold and hot. Extremes in the weather, like our severe winter, is used to prove "climate change".

A DEFENSE OF THE SOUTH---MY RANT

One of the ways conservatives and republicans are discredited is to label them as uneducated or stupid. Americans were told time and time again that George Bush was stupid. Obama is, of course, smart---no very smart---and "reads". I heard the media elites state that it was "going to be good to have a president who reads". Just for the record---Ann Coulter and Sean Hannity are just republicans who minic the tactics of Democratic leaders and their activist media friends.

Recently I heard a radio caller state that the republican party was represented by the uneducated as demonstrated by the breakdown of red and blue states. The South and the Midwest voted red. The caller stated that Southerners were uneducated and bigoted and thus the Republican party was the party of the "uneducated".

For whom are the uneducated voting? A look at a map of the 2008 election broken down by counties shows that many of the counties that swung the elections for Obama were the large cities. Now.... (this logic is just as sound as the radio caller and the liberal media elites)... where are our best schools and our worst schools? Our FAILING schools are largely found in the inner cities, the areas that carried Obama to victory. Thus we can conclude that Obama voters are uneducated.

Still clinging to my guns and religion......

While America Burned, Congress Fiddled

Just a thought: Instead of throwing money at the credit problem, why don't we first discover what caused the problem? Where are the Congressional hearings? Enron executives went to jail….why don't we send a few congress members and Wall Street bankers to join them!

Causes of this Economic Disaster:

# 1: The US Congress…the guys now in charge of fixing the problem are the ones largely responsible for the problem. Isn't that like having the fox in charge of the hen house! Congress and the Presidency encouraged the subprime market, passed laws that allowed it and supported the two-headed monster of Fannie and Freddie that promoted the political agenda of "everybody should own a house not matter their credit rating or ability to pay"! Our government got involved in the free market mortgage business and destroyed America. Wall Street went along…there was money to be made.

# 2: Mark to Market (the way we value bundled mortgages etc) We owe this change in accounting to the Enron scandal. The Europeans advised us against doing this, but we adopted it anyway.

# 3: The Federal Reserve Bank of New York….this is where most of the problems are located. The other 11 Federal Reserve banks are doing fine. The shady side of "high finance" of corporate America are hiding in the shadows of this bank. All the Wall Street Banks are tied in here.

RESULTS:

# 1: We are certainly heading into what I believe will be a deep recession that will change America.

# 2: The biggest damage done is that we have lost faith in our country. People have lost faith in our monetary system and our government. One of my prospective clients is moving all his money off shore. Others are creating stashes of money at home…there has been a run on home safes and guns! People are angry and scared… more later!

Three Reasons For/Against Obama

Three reasons I could vote for Obama…and 3 reasons why I won’t:

First, I could vote for Obama because I would like the United States to take that huge step of electing a black president. Obama is clearly a good guy, thoughtful, intelligent, and I like the fact that family is important to him.

Second, I could vote for Obama because unlike John McCain, he was very direct about his faith in Jesus Christ. Hopefully, the Rick Warren forum will put to rest any thoughts that Obama is a Muslim.

Third, I could vote for Obama because of his statement that he had to live his life out to serve “the least of these”. This is a critical Christian ethic directly from the words of Jesus which states that we will be judged based on how we treat the least among us. Way to go Obama! See Matthew 25:31-46.

My kids like his foreign policy….and I’m sure they are other good reasons to vote for Obama.
But there are at LEAST 3 reasons why I probably won’t vote for Obama.

First, though Obama appears to be thoughtful, evenhanded on issues, willing to reach across the aisle (something on which he has no or little record of doing in the Senate, Hillary was the one with the record of doing this)---It won’t matter on many issues because I fear Obama will be beholden to the far left leadership of Pelosi and Harry Reid. I don’t believe that Obama can stand up to Pelosi and Reid and reach across the aisle. Presidents have so little power and Obama will be no exception.

Second, I probably won’t vote for Obama because he doesn’t really practice “the least of these” when it comes to protecting those that are certainly the least of these---the unborn. Obama can talk about the complexity of theological and scientific issues surrounding abortion…and they are not so simple….but I decided 20 some years ago that if I err in my views, I will err on the side of life.

Third, I probably won’t vote for Obama because his view of how to carry out the mission of “the least of these” is different than mine. This is one of the big differences between Liberals and Conservatives. Obama sees government as fulfilling this mandate. I strongly disagree. I see this “least of these” mandate fulfilled in the role of the individual, the church, the Red Cross and its cousins, and faith based organizations. Now government can help provide a climate to enable these groups to function…but these organizations will always be better than the government. Katrina and its aftermath illustrate my position. Churches, faith based organizations, etc., were much more effective than the government. (the evil George Bush should be blamed for this, right?)

I have other reasons….sitting in the church with Rev. Wright….I’ll stop here.

Feel free to disagree or agree with comments or read and think about Matthew 25!
